Clare & Andy’s Christchurch Wedding by the Sea

It’s always really amazing to be part of a wedding, and this one was no exception as I know the lovely couple personally… Clare has been cutting my hair for a few years now (she is responsible for the now-signature Jen Poynter fringe), and we’ve become good friends along the way. In fact, while Clare was busy making my barnet look brilliant for my own big day, we were actually chatting about her and Andy’s burgeoning relationship… the previous night they’d gone out on their second ever date!

Soooo, fast forward just over two and a half years, it was their wedding day, and I was frantically readying the ceremony room at Christchurch Harbour Hotel for Clare’s big entrance. And what an entrance it was- poised, polished (she’s always polished) and beautiful in a lace tea-length dress and birdcage veil.

Clare requested a romantic looking aisle, with lots of candles and flowers to complement the navy and white colour scheme. Well actually, it was going to be navy and pink, but we convinced ourselves eventually that white would look more sophisticated, and I really do think it did!

After the vows (cue plenty of tears from me!), and THE most touching reading ever by Clare’s daughter Katie, everyone spilled out onto the lawn overlooking the water for drinks and cricket, while we flipped the room to make way for a beautiful afternoon tea…

Loved those tall centrepieces; the fresh whites and greens complemented the whole feel of the day nicely. Apparently Andy sat looking across the room later on and said he now understood why the flowers were so important… happy I turned another groom into a bonafide flower-lover 🙂

It was such a pleasure to make your flowers guys. What classy, classy people you are!
